Organized by:

Contact: Katarina.alexius@soc.uu.se

In this seminar, researchers, with different backgrounds and from different countries, are discussing challenges and prospects in social work with child protection in vulnerable families in relation to political ambitions, aims and reality.

The researchers will initially present what they perceive as the most complex challenges in social work with child protection in vulnerable families. They will also present their understanding of the political ambitions, organizational aims and the reality of the social workers, whom are to accomplish the ambitions and aims.

In dialogue with interested participants from the symposium, the following issues will be discussed:

  1. Are the political ambitions, organizational aims and the reality of the social workers synchronized? What are the challenges and prospects that social workers face on their everyday mission?
  2. What can be done about the challenges in social work with child protection in vulnerable families from a research perspective and from a down-to-earth perspective?

We look forward to interesting discussions!
